10 things about break

1. My car is like the Incensemobile. It smells so great.
2. I'm working on a two-part art project for my family for Christmas. It involves gold spray paint that is now all over my right hand and in my nails.
3. Thought: every girl at Grove City should just wear sweats to class from now until Christmas. We should all sign something that makes that socially okay. Please?
4. The above post is brought to you by Joanna's Pants From High School that are Paper-Thin and Dying and Shrinking Four Years Later, along with the Joanna Went Jeans Shopping Today and Barely Found Anything Counseling Services.
5. I slept until 1pm today. GLORIOUS. I think that's really bad for you. I don't care.
6. I'm going to Philadelphia tomorrow to sit in on some of my mom's masters classes at seminary...I'm going to her Theology class and apparently a class debate about gender is scheduled...I'm pretty pumped.
7. Being home makes me not think about academic anything or relationship anything. It's so great. While we were driving back on I-80 yesterday, I crossed the Delaware River and sighed a sigh of relief. I literally felt like something lifted as soon as my wheels touched Jersey ground. I felt...FREE!
8. I'm learning to knit. It takes sooo longgg.
9. I spent the day at my friend's house watching Elf, playing with a toddler and listening to my friend tell me about how she fooled her guy friend into thinking she was a stripper. I have chosen the correct friends.
10. I didn't go to church today because I didn't want to. I feel like I've moved on. Is that bad? Probably. I'll go next Sunday. I'm just older and different and I have a church back in Grove City that feels more like my home church now. Is this what growing up feels like? Pieces of you scattered across the world, wondering where you're supposed to belong?

More to come. Philly tomorrow!

  1. The thing about sweats to class is that I feel it's disrespectful to the profs and shows that you don't care enough to respect them by looking nice for class.
